I️ finally got the chance to pick up the new wet n wild photofocus foundation, read below to check out my thoughts on it!
The “skin perfecting” formula claims to look like “your skin, only better” by completely eliminating flashback in photos, which is a pretty impressive claim for a drugstore foundation! The website states that to test flashback, photos were taken under 7 different lighting conditions with and without flash:
- Clear, Sunny Sky
- Outdoors in the PM
- Indoors in the PM
- Electronic Flash
- Fluorescent Light
- Bathroom Light
- Nightclub Light
To test out this foundation I first applied a primer to my skin, and then put on the foundation with my Eco Tools Makeup Sponge. I also tried applying it with a brush, but I preferred the sponge, like usual. In my experience, the coverage is a really nice medium/full coverage that really does look natural and skin-like. It dries down to a matte finish that can dry pretty quickly.
I have always struggled with makeup creasing in my smile lines, so it is a must for me that my foundation doesn’t emphasize and settle in that area. I found that while my pores and smile lines weren’t completely invisible with this foundation, it did do a very nice job of blurring their appearance. There was very little creasing in my smile lines, even after wearing it after a whole day of classes! It also held up really well, it didn’t seem to wear off – even with my oily skin type! And as far as flashback goes, I didn’t experience any! I found it to photograph really well.
I was super impressed with this foundation, especially for it being only around $5. This is definitely something I would repurchase in the future and might just be my new go-to foundation!
